5. Interview/Assessment Center
A request on our part for you to come in for an interview or visit an Assessment Center means that
you have successfully passed the first important hurdle in the hiring process and must now convince
us in person of your suitability for the job.
A Bayer Direct Services staff member will usually call you to set up an appointment. The
people who interview you in our offices or at an Assessment Center will be from the department in
which the position you are applying for is located. If you have any administrative issues that need
to be dealt with (e.g. reimbursement for travel costs), you can call the Bayer Direct Services team
hotline (+ 49 214 30 99 779) or send an e-mail to:
hrdirect@bayerbds.com.
If you are applying for technical jobs or positions in the natural sciences, you will be
given a
hiring interview that will
give you a key opportunity to present yourself in a convincing manner. In addition to allowing you
to convey your personality, the interview will give you an opportunity to learn more about the
position you are applying for. In other words, don't be afraid to ask us questions!
If you are applying for commercial positions, you will generally be given an initial
interview over the phone, which might then be followed by an invitation to you to visit an
Assessment Center. Your visit to an Assessment Center will give you the opportunity to demonstrate
your verbal and analytical skills and provide evidence that you are capable of working competently
and with dedication both alone and in a team, and that your personality blends in well with our
organization.
⇒ The average duration of an interview/Assessment Center visit is
one day.
